WE WERE utterly surprised to learn that Vilma Something was the anonymous generous donor who gave P1 million to three directors para makapunta sila sa Cannes International Film Festival.
Vilma Something is known in the industry was a tightwad and this is the reason why we were supremely surprised at her very generous gesture.
Gusto yatang ma-feel good ni Ate Vi kahit hindi nakasali ang kanyang Ekstra sa prestigious film festival.
The one million peso fund will be used by the three directors na nakasama sa Cannes – sina Lav Diaz, Adolfo Alix, Jr. and Erik Matti. Lav’s Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan and Adolf’s Death March have made it to the Un Certain Regard selections while Erik’s On The Job will be featured sa Director’s Forthnight selection.
So, hindi na kuripotsina itong si Ate Vi?
