MISS UNIVERSE 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup is now engaged to her Filipino-Chinese businessman boyfriend Lloyd Lee. Sila ay nakatakdang ikasal sa December 29 after being together for two years.
Unang nagkita ang dalawa during Shamcey’s 25th birthday/victory party on May 2011. Lloyd accompanied his cousin, Carol Ty, who was also a beauty pageant contestant to the party. June 16 nang opisyal na maging magkasintahan ang dalawa.
Exactly two years as a couple, Shamcey and Lloyd had their private Chinese ceremonial engagement last June 16 at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel in Mandaluyong City. Ito ay dinaluhan ng kanilang mga pamilya at malalapit na kaibigan tulad nina Venus Raj, Janine Tugonon, at Ariella Arida.
Their engagement is called a Ting Hun, isang seremonyang ginagawa ilang buwan bago ang kasalan. Dinadaluhan ito ng kani-kanilang pamilya. In Chinese culture, the ceremony symbolizes that both families formally accept their new son or daughter-in-law into their family.
